About us:
Pathways Promise is a proudly South African non-profit organization based in Edenvale, Johannesburg. Our mission is to empower underprivileged children by giving them the educational tools and daily essentials they need to thrive.
While public education is free in many schools, families often face additional expenses such as uniforms, stationery, transportation, and other school-related costs. These supplementary costs can be prohibitive, especially for low-income households. Furthermore, some fee-paying public schools require payments that many parents struggle to afford, leading to increased dropout rates.
Pathways Promise, raises funds and partners with individuals, schools, and corporates to provide:
- School fees
- School uniforms
- Stationery and school essentials
- Extracurricular activity support (sports, music, arts, etc.)
- Basic toiletries and groceries
Got your BACKpack:
Our first campaign, Got Your BACKpack, is a uniquely South African initiative that connects privilege with purpose. We partner with schools to encourage learners from more privileged backgrounds to sponsor a backpack for just R300. Each backpack is filled with essential stationery and small treats, providing both practical help and a message of care to a child in need.
We are proudly South African, and all our backpacks are manufactured locally. As the campaign grows, our vision is twofold:
To provide every underprivileged school in South Africa with essential stationery for their learners.
To create jobs and uplift communities by training and up-skilling local individuals to manufacture the backpacks, turning this initiative into a sustainable source of employment.
Get Involved:
We invite corporates, schools, and individuals to join us in making a lasting difference. Whether you choose to sponsor a child, a classroom, or an entire school, your partnership helps pave a more promising path for
South Africa’s future leaders.
Together, we can turn compassion into action.
